Downtown is fun and all (Pike's place, Space Needle, and shopping). Nearby coffee shops, fancy (and not-so-fancy) restaurants, and bars you will have plenty to do and see.  Seattle has great public transportation. Seattle Link Light Rail is 6 blocks away from the entrance (although you’ll have to walk uphill).
